Advocacy and Education Project

Advocacy and Education Project (AEP)

AEP seeks to fulfill CCA’s commitment to change systems that perpetuate poverty and injustice.

Services: empowerment workshops; support services, grassroots advocacy

History: AEP originated in 1977 as the Welfare Reform Project, but adjusted its objectives over time to reflect the changing needs of the community.

Philosophy: AEP’s objective is to focus on issues such as empowerment, grass-roots organizing, leadership training and economic justice. Its commitment is to ensure that previously unheard voices are given the opportunity to share their stories, participate in public policy conversations and to have opportunities to advocate on the issues that concern them.

AEP sponsors grassroots groups so that those whose opinions are often marginalized can be heard by those in decision-making positions.
